Membership, Qualification, Admission And Membership Rights

Membership

A member shall be; any person who is well-being and willing to join the society as a contributor and continues to do so while abiding by the rules and regulations of the society. Members must have their application for membership approved by due process in accordance with the by-laws of the society. These applicants must have a full member standing as their surety.

Qualifications

A member of the Society shall:

• Be a person of good character in the assessment of the Management Committee.
• Above 18 years of age.
• Be a person of sound mind.
• Must not have been convicted by any Court of competent jurisdiction for a criminal offence involving violence, fraud, or dishonesty.

Admission

• Any interested and qualified person shall apply in writing or complete an application form online or apply by electronic mail giving required details to the Society, and on admission, shall pay the admission fee of N5,000.00 (Five thousand naira only). Such an amount might been determined from time to time by the management committee, subscribe to the required minimum shares, and begin to make savings contributions to the fund of the Society.
• Any exited member who wishes to re-join shall apply in writing or complete an application form to the Society and on admission, shall pay the admission fee of N5,000.00 (Five thousand naira only) or any such amount as might be determined from time to time by the management committee, subscribe to the required minimum shares and begin to make savings contributions to the fund of the Society.
• Every member shall nominate one person (Next of kin) to whom his shares or interest shall be transferred in the event of such member's death or becoming permanently insane. The member may at any point in time, change the name and address of the next of kin which shall be entered in the Register of members and the member shall sign all alterations.
• Every member shall, when requested by the management committee, render a true and complete statement of his indebtedness outside the society.

Membership Rights

Members of the Society shall be entitled to enjoy all membership rights and fully participate in the activities of the Society, provided that:

• You are not an Associate Member and shall not be entitled to seek any elective office of the Society.
• As a member, you may not be granted credit facilities by the Society above the member’s net savings with the Society, and the repayment period shall not be more than the contract end date.
