Objectives Of This Cooperative Society

The objects of the Society are to promote the economic interests of its members and especially

• To encourage regular savings amongst members so that each member may cultivate the habit of making savings at least once every one month, with a view to building up funds for his/her future use.
• To encourage fixed deposits from members out of which a fund may be established for giving short-term loans to members.
• To stock consumers' and producers’ goods for distribution to members.
• To undertake, where practicable, the production or manufacture of such consumers or/and producers’ goods for distribution to members and non-members.
• To acquire movable and immovable properties of any description either as assets of the Society or for distribution, supply, or sale to members.
• To engage in any other economic or social activity as may be approved by the general meeting of the members to raise capital for the achievement of its objectives.
• To raise capital and do such other things as are necessary for the attainment of these objects.
• To affiliate with such Secondary or Apex Co-operative Societies as may encourage and promote the above objectives.
• To promote a cooperative spirit among the members, to work for the improvement of local educational and living standards, and to encourage the development of Cooperative Nigeria as a whole.
• To engage in thrift and credit operations.
• To enter into contracts and agreements in the interest of members.
• To procure consumer items for distribution, supply, and sale to Members at a reasonable price.
• To assist Members to own assets.
• To incorporate, take over, invest, divest or otherwise align with other corporate entities as may be required for carrying out the activities of the Cooperative.
• To carry out any other activity designed on co-operative principles, which will encourage the spirit and practice of cooperation among the members as approved by members in a General Meeting. To distribute surplus profits and payment of interest on savings to Members. To promote the economic interest of its members and especially leverage on its number and collective expertise in achieving value for members which would normally not be possible by just one individual. Encourage thrift and provide a means where savings in the Society are made regularly.
• Enable members to obtain loans against their savings at a reasonable interest rate and with convenient terms of repayment.
• Encourage, help and create opportunities for members to develop themselves.
• Sensitise and create awareness among members on investment opportunities.
• Create a stable source of income for Shareholders.
• Engage in any legitimate business the Executive Committee deems beneficial to the Society.
• Encourage the development of the Cooperative movement in Nigeria.
• Associate with other Cooperative Societies for mutual benefit.
• To provide facilities for deposits and savings by members.
• To enable members to obtain loans for necessary productive or commercial purposes at a reasonable interest rate.
• To purchase and retail to members, items as the management committee of the society may decide from time to time.
• To raise funds by issuing shares and contracting loans necessary for the attainment of these objectives.
• To take other measures designed to encourage the spirit and practice of thrift, mutual help, and self-help in members.
• To promote Co-operative ideology among the members, to work for the improvement of local educational and living standards, and to encourage the development of the Cooperative movement within the country.
• To participate actively as a member and/or customer in organisations that are established to promote production, services, trade, and investment.
• To purchase equipment, machinery, and implements needed to provide for funds generation through agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and other economical, viable ventures that will enhance financial empowerment of its members.
• To provide for increased production of viable economic ventures that will enhance the socio-economic/financial empowerment of its members.
• To interact with viable and vibrant cooperative societies within the local government/state/federal international bodies for the straightening of cooperative activities.
